A
small peaceful Cotswold village consisting of traditional limestone
and thatched houses, a 12th century church and a pub (featured in the Good
Pub Guide), 'Stanton is one of those places one hesitates to write about
or even mention too loudly
here, if anywhere, one feels at the very
heart of the Cotswolds' (The Cotswold Way, Anthony Burton). The village
is at the foot of the Cotswold escarpment so there is virtually no roadwork
before the rider or walker is up in the hills, enjoying the magnificent
views and miles of paths. |
